Transfer Station

HWMA operates the Eureka Transfer Station at 1059 West Hawthorne Street.  For hours of operation, please see our location & hours page.

We accept most types of household garbage, including:

Household garbage (note: most household garbage can be recycled at lower cost than disposal)
Dry, empty paint cans (can be recycled)

Empty aerosol cans (can be recycled)

New light ballasts (within the last 10 years)

Dirt, concrete (can be recycled)

Window glass

Engines without fluids (can be recycled)

Furniture (mattresses, box springs, sofas, chairs etc...) (can be repaired or reused) 

Railroad ties or phone poles (each no more than 5 feet long, no more than 150 lbs. total)
Pressure Treated Lumber

We also accept greenwaste, including:
Grass
Brush
Pallets
Sticks
Branches
Lumber (Nails OK. Please no pressure treated wood, paint, plywood or particle board.)
(Please NO DIRT in greenwaste--must go to tip floor if you cannot find another option.)
