Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

HWMA’s Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facility, located at the Hawthorne Street Transfer Station, 1059 W. Hawthorne Street, Eureka, CA is open for residents on the first Saturday of each month from 9am to 2pm, except for major holidays.
Maximum load limits for residents are 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste, by container size. The cost for disposal is a flat fee of $5. Residents inside the city limits of the City of Fortuna, and those residents who bring over the maximum allowable limits of hazardous waste will pay a per item fee for disposal.

Our next mobile collection event will take place on May 22, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the old Industrial Electric Service Company parking lot, located at 1601 Samoa Boulevard. A map to the event location can be found below:
